A picture is worth a thousand...if you complete this with bucks, you might be using some of the cashback apps that have become a growing trend for smartphone users. While I doubt you would get a thousand dollars by snapping pictures of your receipts and sending them in as proof of your purchases, you can get some money back and all it takes is a little time and a cell phone that you can download apps on. Receipt Hog used to only be available in the USA, so I was thrilled to find it open to Canada. I just received a  $5 PayPal halfway Gift card with this app. You can currently choose a Pay Pal, Amazon or VISA Giftcard. Which one would you choose?

Receipt Hog is unique in that you get rewarded for uploading any receipt that is less than 2 weeks old. They are also currently rewarding people bonus points when they connect accounts like Amazon and Walmart.  It is quite handy to give the system permission to search your accounts for receipts.

Receipt Jar works similar to Receipt Hog, except you only have one week to upload your receipts.

Check Out 51 has been around for several years, but if you haven't used it in a while they have some new features that might make you smile. Checkout 51 offers a variety of products on their website and app that you might like to purchase. Items are divided into several categories like baby, dairy, meat, etc. You can reserve one or more cashback opportunities and then look for them in the store- however -if you do not upload your receipt right away, even if you have reserved a cashback opportunity it can vanish from your list. Yikes!! That has happened to me once or twice. My advice? As soon as you buy an item on the list, find a quiet spot and snap a pic of your receipt as soon as possible.

 However, you cannot request a check until you have a total of $20 cashback accumulated. There is good news!
