4. Watch for promos like these in Walmart Flyers. Tonight I just noticed Walmart is offering people who shop for groceries online $20 off their first 3 grocery orders using coupon code SNOW60. This offer ends in February 2024.

5. Double check the website for coupon code offers too, because on the Walmart website, they have different coupon code offers at the same time as the one above. Instead of needing to purchase $100 on each grocery order to get the savings- you only need to purchase $75. However, you only get $15 off your order- on the other hand it does give you $15 off your first  4 orders instead of $20 off your first 3 orders. This second coupon code might be better for smaller families or singles. Which would you choose? Use coupon code 60GROCERY to take advantage of these savings on your first 3 orders.

6. Double-check your cupboards, refrigerator, and freezer to be sure you are not buying things that you already have on hand. I used to think it was a great idea to stock up when things went on sale. However, lately, I have discovered it is not so clever - you never know when you will need to suddenly change your diet and then you are stuck with foods you can no longer use. This is especially bad if you have made a bunch of homemade casseroles in advance - it can be difficult these days to find people willing to take a chance on a stranger cooking for them. 
7. When you order your groceries online, you might want to choose to pick them up - this way, you can take a minute to pop in and check out the marked-down produce racks before you pick up your grocery order.
8. Pick up a credit card that offers cashback when you shop. I realize this may not be possible for many people, but if you use it wisely and pay off your bill it can be a useful tool.
9. Shop store brand products."Great Value"  is one of the Walmart store brand names."Equate" is also another of their name brands. My dad used to drive for National Grocers and he said that he would go to a food cannery with a truck and pick up brand-name and store-brand foods from the same factory. If you are a bit reluctant to take a chance on store-brand items - try buying one of each and see if you can tell the difference in a blind taste test. Sometimes I have found I prefer the store brand to the name brand items.
