10 Smart Walmart Grocery Shopping Tips
- Pray - You probably already knew I was going to say that - but hey- it works!
- Get free Walmart Gift Cards by playing games online. Mistplay has given me 3 free Walmart Gift Cards so far.
- Sign up for Rakuten. It's totally free. If you are new to Rakuten, you will get $30 cashback when you spend $30 - then after that, you will get cashback on your Walmart orders. Right now Rakuten is offering 1$ Cashback on Walmart orders, perhaps it will be more when you sign in. Sign up here for Rakuten using the special referral link to get started with $30 cashback when you spend $30.
Rakuten- Walmart Offer Screenshot - Watch for promos like these in Walmart Flyers. Tonight I just noticed Walmart is offering people who shop for groceries online $20 off their first 3 grocery orders using coupon code SNOW60. This offer ends in February 2024.
Walmart Online Grocery Shopping Promo Code SNOW60 - Double check the website for coupon code offers too, because on the Walmart website, they have different coupon code offers at the same time as the one above. Instead of needing to purchase $100 on each grocery order to get the savings- you only need to purchase $75. However, you only get $15 off your order- on the other hand it does give you $15 off your first 4 orders instead of $20 off your first 3 orders. This second coupon code might be better for smaller families or singles. Which would you choose? Use coupon code 60GROCERY to take advantage of these savings on your first 3 orders.
Walmart Online Grocery Order Coupon Code 60GROCERY - Double-check your cupboards, refrigerator, and freezer to be sure you are not buying things that you already have on hand. I used to think it was a great idea to stock up when things went on sale. However, lately, I have discovered it is not so clever - you never know when you will need to suddenly change your diet and then you are stuck with foods you can no longer use. This is especially bad if you have made a bunch of homemade casseroles in advance - it can be difficult these days to find people willing to take a chance on a stranger cooking for them.
- When you order your groceries online, you might want to choose to pick them up - this way, you can take a minute to pop in and check out the marked-down produce racks before you pick up your grocery order.
- Pick up a credit card that offers cashback when you shop. I realize this may not be possible for many people, but if you use it wisely and pay off your bill it can be a useful tool.
- Shop store brand products."Great Value" is one of the Walmart store brand names."Equate" is also another of their name brands. My dad used to drive for National Grocers and he said that he would go to a food cannery with a truck and pick up brand-name and store-brand foods from the same factory. If you are a bit reluctant to take a chance on store-brand items - try buying one of each and see if you can tell the difference in a blind taste test. Sometimes I have found I prefer the store brand to the name brand items.
- After your shopping trips take pictures of your coupons and upload them to receipt apps that reward you for your shopping. One receipt app that I like using is Receipt Hog. Find out more about free grocery apps that pay you for uploading your receipts in this post.
